In the heart of Bolton, a journey began in the depths of uncertainty. Gianluca and Joseph, the passionate father-son duo behind the GL MTT Bolton House of Muay Thai, embarked on a remarkable venture at the end of the COVID era. Starting in the humble confines of their basement, with a handful of dedicated members, their vision has blossomed into a thriving community that not only transforms bodies but touches lives.

A Community’s Evolution:

What started as a small gathering of passionate individuals quickly outgrew the basement. The demand for a space that could nurture both beginners and seasoned fighters led Gianluca and Joseph to establish their first official location in their hometown, Bolton. Over a year and a half, this community has flourished, aiding many in achieving their fitness goals while witnessing others step into the ring for the first time, and overcoming personal barriers.

Beyond the four walls of their studio, a strong inter-gym community has been established with other like-minded institutions such as Triumph Muay Thai and Etobicoke Martial Arts. This collaboration emphasizes the importance of being welcoming and supportive to all who wish to join in on the exhilarating journey of Muay Thai, embracing not just the sport but the Thai culture itself.

Gianluca’s Journey:

Gianluca’s story is one of transformation and dedication. His journey began under the guidance of transformative figures like Ajahn Suchart and Kru Glen. Under Ajahn’s tutelage, Gianluca absorbed not only the technical aspects of Muay Thai but also the spiritual strength intertwined with this ancient art. With a profound passion for Muay Thai, Gianluca has dedicated years to teaching, starting from his basement and now standing at the helm of GL MTT Bolton House of Muay Thai. His mission is to pass on the wealth of knowledge and skills to the next generation, guiding them forward in their journey of self-improvement.

Joseph’s Ascent:

Joseph’s Muay Thai journey began at the tender age of 8, and it quickly became an integral part of his life, shaping him into the person he is today. Muay Thai has been his guiding force, imparting invaluable lessons of love, respect, hope, and discipline. As a qualified Poo Choi Kru and C-licensed coach, Joseph’s teaching philosophy revolves around countering negativity with positivity. His approach is methodical and structured, prioritizing simplicity and breaking down techniques into fundamental steps, fostering a deeper understanding of the process.

Muay Thai: A Way of Life:

Muay Thai, for Gianluca and Joseph, is more than just a sport or a fitness regimen; it’s a way of life. It serves as a conduit to release stress and negativity healthily, channeling negative emotions into positive growth. The mat becomes a classroom where life lessons are taught, applicable not just in the ring but in the challenges of everyday life, from academic struggles to issues of confidence.

In the heart of Bolton, GL MTT Bolton House of Muay Thai is more than just a studio; it’s a beacon of community, growth, and transformation. Gianluca and Joseph, with their wealth of knowledge and passion for Muay Thai, have not only built a successful studio but a family where art is a way of life. As the journey continues, they hope to share the same transformative experiences with everyone who walks through their doors, making Muay Thai a heartbeat within the Bolton community. “Muay Thai has shaped who we are and we hope to be able to share those same experiences with everyone” Kru Joseph.
